Völs Quartet

Hailed for their “united sound,” “flawless performances,” and “ability to engage their audiences,” the Vols String Quartet continues to maintain an active concert schedule bringing chamber music performances to music lovers in Italy, Canada, the Caribbean and throughout the United States.

Their mission is to bring classical music to the global community performing full recital engagements as well as educational programs to schools, workshops and youth orchestras across the U.S.  In 2005 the quartet was in residence at the Robert Asp Music Festival and in 2006 held the residency at the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Horizon Music Festival in Minnesota.  They have performed for nearly thousands of students ranging from middle school to the college level and have offered master classes at each of the venues.

With over five-dozen appearance since their inauguration at the Schlern International Festival in Italy (2004), their most recent concerts have included those at the University of Puerto Rico, North Dakota State University, University of Minnesota, Steinway Gallery in Florida and the Laredo Community College in Texas.  They have also performed at the prestigious Schubert Club - Court Room Concert Series (Schubert Club) in Minneapolis, Bravo! Festival, the Chamber Music Institute at the University of Lincoln-Nebraska where they premiered contemporary composers compositions and at the Banff Centre in Canada.

The quartet is comprised of national and international competition prize-winners who all maintain careers as orchestral musicians, recitalists and soloists with orchestras around the world and study at The Juilliard School (Rebecca Jackson), the Manhattan School of Music (Daniel Andai) and the University of Minnesota (Lucas Shogren).  Also included is the Professor of Viola/Violin at the University of Texas – Pan American (Joel Pagan).

The Vols Quartet strives to enrich the lives of concertgoers and educate the young artists of tomorrow in hopes of carrying on their love and enthusiasm for music for generations to come.
